This project consists of the appropriation of images published in digital media from 2000 to 2021: photographs, satellite images, and models that capture the various catastrophes that have marked this period. This content is transferred to the silver plates of the daguerreotype, that «mirror with memory» whose materiality allows it to reveal a latent reality, fix the flow of the image, and encapsulate time.
In the 19th century, the daguerreotype technique was developed as a tool to capture and preserve images through the camera obscura. In the 21st century, the photographic image has lost its materiality and has been submerged in a sea of information that condemns it to oblivion.
