Historically, Photography has been presented as a metaphor of a window, as in, a reality frame that reveals something about the referent, a transparent and objective language upon which its veracious myth finds its foundation. At the same time, it’s been regarded as a metaphor of a mirror; a reflection of the inner world of the author that reveals something subjective.

View from the window in Madrid, is a photographic series that relativizes both approaches, presenting Photography as a revealing tool for the different layers of reality, as a plane that is transparent and reflective at once, an instable fragment, an ambiguous image; it presents Photography as a world in-between.

The title is a reference to the oldest surviving camera photograph. It presents a systematic register of a sunset in 8 images, referring to the 8 hours of exposure of Niepce’s photograph.
